Hazel Award Nominations Open

Nominations are now open for the Hazel Tait Award – for Cumbria Squash and Racketball Personality of the Year. This is the 15th year for presentation of this special annual award that was introduced in 2004/2005 season to maintain the memory of Hazel Tait who was President of the organisation and a founder member.

The award was designed on the basis of Hazel`s wide ranging involvement in Cumbria Squash. It recognises outstanding performances across the full scope of Cumbria Squash & Racketball activities. The person selected could be: a player who has produced an exceptional performance; an administrator who has given special and major contribution to Club and County Association development; a person who has enhanced the image of Cumbria Squash organisation or of a specific Squash Club; a dedicated coach or volunteer in many other aspects of Club life etc.

The award process is based upon nominations from Clubs that are presented on the enclosed form. The nominations are to be prepared and issued to Tom Armstrong by the 23 February 2019 closing date.

Each nomination must be substantiated with specific details of what has been done or achieved and evidence of its success. The Executive Committee will review the nominations and will select the “Personality of the Year”. That person will be presented with the award at the “County League Cup Finals and League Trophy Presentation” event on Friday 22 March 2019 at Carlisle Squash Club.

This is a great opportunity to formally recognise and thank a Club member.
