Carlisle’s two senior teams swept the board in this season’s county leagues with a near perfect performance in the League Cup finals.
The club’s A team (Dave Box, Ben Hetherington, Damian Whelan, Paul Walkington & Joseph Broadley) beat Wigton A 4-1 on Friday, March 24. Wigton’s team was made up of Jonny Honeyman, James Wilikinson, Steven Murdock, Al Miller and Adam Gill. Wigton won their only match with JH beating DB at number one.
Carlisle’s B team (Victoria Bell, Will Box, Adam Reid, Eve Driver & Craig Jefferson) won the B Cup 5-0 with a dominating performance against Appeby (John Bowman, Michael Dowding, Martyn Awde, Jeff Broadhurst & Thomas Ewbank).
Both Carlisle teams had also secured the Premier Division and Division One trophies this season.
To further add to their collection of silverware Adam Reid picked up Cumbria’s Player of the Season Award for a stellar record of 16 wins out of 16 matches this season.
Carlisle Squash Club and Ronnie Bell once again hosted the finals night this year. The Cumbria Squash committee would like to thank Ronnie for first class hospitality and extend its thanks to Chris Lilley (who couldn’t be there on the night) for organising the leagues this season.
